Man Attempts to Punch Officers during Questioning 

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky.  (01/014/2015) – The Madisonville Police Department has reported an incident that took place on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, regarding an incident leading to charges of assaulting officers.

KSP Officer William Poe reported that during a follow-up investigation at the James Madison Inn in Madisonville, 49-year-old Dennis Mullins was found hiding in a hotel room shower, lying face-down on the shower floor. MPD Officers Ward and Crowley attempted to speak with Mullins. Officers touched Mullins to gain his attention and he came to his feet, attempting to punch and shove both officers. Mullins was arrested.

Throughout further investigations, officers found multiple drug-related items in the room, such as plastic bags containing suspected residue of illegal substance, drug paraphernalia consistent with Intravenous drug use and a syringe hidden in the toilet tank containing suspected Meth.

Mullins was housed in the Hopkins County Detention Center on charges of Assault 3rd Degree (Police Officer), Resisting Arrest, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth).
