Hopkinsville Woman Arrested on Drug Charges after Traffic Stop 

WESTERN Ky. (2/2/2015) – The Kentucky State Police has charged a Hopkinsville woman with several drug and traffic-related offenses after conducting a traffic stop.

On Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at approximately 4:03 p.m., Trooper Curtis Crick conducted a traffic stop on KY 171, in Kirkmansville, on a vehicle operated by Teresa E. Hayes, 46, of Hopkinsville.

During the stop, Trooper Crick determined that Ms. Hayes was impaired, and was subsequently arrested. The Christian County Sheriff’s Department K-9 unit responded to the scene and the K-9 alerted to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed pills, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Ms. Hayes was transported to the Todd County Detention Center. During a search of her person, conducted inside the detention center, Todd County deputy jailers located a bag of suspected methamphetamine. Ms. Hayes was lodged in the Todd County Detention Center and charged with Speeding 18 MPH Over the Limit, Careless Driving, DUI 1st Offense, Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation, Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense – Meth, Possession Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container 1st Offense, Possession of Marijuana, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon and Promoting Contraband 1st Degree.
