 Headlight Out Results in Multiple Drug Arrests

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky.  (02/067/2015) – The Madisonville Police Department has reported an arrest stemming from a traffic stop on West Center Street.

Police Officials state that on Feb. 6, 2015, Officer Justin Jones pulled over 33-year-old Michael Gray, a resident of 403 Princeton Street in Providence. After speaking with Gray, Jones suspected him to be under the influence of drugs. A strong smell of synthetic drugs was reportedly coming from the inside of the vehicle. Gray was determined to be under the influence of drugs and was arrested.

A search of Gray’s vehicle revealed synthetic drugs scattered throughout the passenger side floorboard. Gray admitted to throwing drugs in an attempt to hide them once he was pulled over.

The investigation continued, with Officer Jones receiving information that Gray had purchased the drugs at 25 South Church Street in Madisonville, the residence of 20-year-old Preston Dickerson, Kami Rickard and 40-year-old Phillip Young. A search warrant was obtained for the residence.

After a thorough search of the home, officers found several bags of synthetic drugs, digital scales and various types of drug paraphernalia. Dickerson was charged on three active Hopkins County warrants, Trafficking in Synthetic Drugs, Possession of Synthetic Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia. Young was charged with Possession of Synthetic Drugs, Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Rickard was charged with one active Hopkins County warrant and Possession of Synthetic Drugs.
