Central City Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Arrest 

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (02/10/15) – On Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, Central City Police Officers arrested a Central City resident on various drug charges.

Officer Josh Beatty and Sergeant Jamie Jenkins of the Central City Police Department pulled over a vehicle in the parking lot of Calvary Baptist Church on Stringtown Road.

Police officials state that once the vehicle was pulled over, 50-year-old Richard A. Smith, a passenger in the vehicle, was found to be in possession of various types of controlled substances.

Upon further search of the vehicle, other substances were located as well as three bags of white powder, suspected to be Meth.

Smith was arrested on charges of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (meth), 7 counts of Controlled Substance Possession not in Original Container, four counts of Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Drug unspecified), and three counts of a controlled Substance 3rd Degree.

Smith was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
