Elkton Woman Arrested on Drug Charges after Traffic Stop 

WESTERN Ky. (02/11/2015) – Lately, there have been several traffic stops throughout the Muhlenberg, Hopkins and Christian County area that has resulted in drug-related charges. On Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, another arrest was added to the list by the Kentucky State Police (KSP).

KSP officials state that Sunday, February 8, 2015, at approximately 5:10 p.m., Trooper Curtis Crick conducted a traffic stop on KY 106, near Sharon Grove, on a vehicle operated by Paula A. Watkins, 50, of Elkton.

During the stop, Trooper Crick determined that Ms. Watkins was impaired, and was subsequently arrested. Ms. Watkins was transported to the Todd County Detention Center. During a search of her person, conducted inside the detention center, Todd County deputy jailers located several bags of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Ms. Watkins was lodged in the Todd County Detention Center and charged with Speeding, DUI 1st Offense, Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense – Meth, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Promoting Contraband 1st Degree .
