 Sheriff’s Office Arrests Drakesboro Man and Powderly Woman on Meth Charges

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (02/27/15) – The Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office has reported two arrests involving Meth.

Sheriff’s Office officials state that on Feb. 6, 2015, Sheriff Curtis McGehee searched the home of Laquita Martin on Doss Drive in the Powderly area. While in the residence, Sheriff McGehee located two bags of suspected Meth. Probation and Parole Officers Tommy Kirpatrick and Christina Embry also found drug paraphernalia inside Martin’s home. In this arrest, the Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Powderly Police, Greenville Police. Martin was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth).

On Feb. 23, Detective Wade Griggs performed an arrest at 434 Ditney Hill Road in Drakesboro. Detective Griggs was performing an investigation and found that Joseph Don Groves was in possession of around 27 grams of suspected Meth. Detective Griggs was assisted by Detective Troy Gibson (Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force). Groves was charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth).

Local citizens with information regarding illegal drug activity are urged to contact local law enforcement immediately with any information.
