SATURDAYTRAFFIC ALERT – Local Drivers Warned Regarding Icy Roads

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (03/07/15) – While many of the main roads have been cleared by Kentucky Transportation Cabinet workers, there are still some areas that have icy roadways.

The main areas with harsh driving conditions are back roads and lesser traveled areas. That said, there are still some main highways with slick spots that have frozen overnight after sunny conditions yesterday.

Also, keep in mind that local wildlife will likely be on the move today in attempts to stay warm and searching for food. There have been many deer and turkey spotted near and on roadways this morning.

Local drivers are urged to use caution if you must be out today. If you don’t have to get out today, it would still be best to stay indoors and off the roads.

Weather officials are optimistic that temperatures will be above freezing today and that many icy spots will melt throughout the day.

Just remember, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
