Five Injured and one Dead in Accident on Pennyrile Parkway 

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky.  (03/08/2015) – On Sunday, March 8, 2015 Kentucky State Police investigated a single vehicle fatal collision on the Pennyrile Parkway at the 30 mile marker.

Alyssa M. Wagner, 22, of Jasper IN, was operating a 2004 Lincoln Aviator northbound on the Pennyrile Parkway. For unknown reasons Ms. Wagner’s vehicle exited the left hand shoulder of the roadway and struck an overpass support column. Ms. Wagner’s vehicle then re-entered the northbound lanes overturning onto its passenger side, and came to final rest in the roadway.

Ms. Wagner was wearing a seatbelt but succumbed to her injuries at the scene where she was pronounced deceased by Dennis Mayfield, Hopkins County Coroner.

Passengers Lauren Cessan, 22, of Ogden IL, Kristen Hostetter, 23, of Bloomfield IN, and Jennah M. Banks, 23, of Rockport IN were transported to Baptist Health for treatment to their injuries. Passenger Jarod Daming, 24, from Newburgh IN was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville IN, and passenger Malcolm Webb, 23, from Rockport IN was flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville IN for treatment to their injuries.

An ongoing investigation in being conducted by Trooper William Braden, who was assisted at the scene by Sergeant Nick Rice, Trooper Luis Palmer, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Department, Nortonville Fire Rescue, and Med Center Ambulance.
