 Fatality in WK Parkway Pedestrian Accident Identified as Central City Man

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (03/18/15) –  On Monday, March 16, at around 9:35 PM, KenCo News reporters were on the scene of an accident that took place on WK Parkway near the 45 mile-marker in which a pedestrian lost his life.

KenCo News reported the next day that a Hartford man was driving eastward on WK Parkway when he struck a pedestrian that was standing in the right lane of the highway. At the time of the accident, the pedestrian was pronounced dead by Muhlenberg County Deputy Coroner Ricky King.

The identity of the male was unknown at the time.

Today, Kentucky State Police officials have released information stating that the pedestrian was 50-year-old Kevin Shock of Central City.

Officials stated that Mr. Shock was identified by fingerprints.

The accident is still under investigation by Kentucky State Police Trooper Luis Palmer.

Sgt. Brian Duvall, Sgt. Nick Rice, Tpr. Jacob Fortney, the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department, the Graham Volunteer Fire Department, the Powderly Police Department, Muhlenberg County EMS, the Muhlenberg County Coroner’s Office, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet assisted at the scene.
