Vehicle Accident in Front of Powderly Doughnut Shop

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (03/28/15) – At around 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 28, 2015, local first responders were dispatched to the scene of a single-vehicle accident that occurred in front of Powderly Doughnut Shop on West Main Street.

Reporters on the scene found that Eddy Settle, a resident of Greenville, was traveling through Powderly on West Main in a red Pontiac when his vehicle exited the roadway in front of the Doughnut shop. The vehicle hit ground wires from a power pole, snapping the wires, hit the Doughnut Shop mailbox, traveled across a ditch line and through a yard located at 400 West Main. The vehicle came to a stop after hitting more ground wires from another power pole.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Jerry Knight informed reporters that Mr. Settle did not appear to have any significant injuries from the accident, but had suffered from a seizure.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted on the scene of the accident by the Muhlenberg County Ambulance Service, Greenville Police Officer Wes Miller, and the Greenville Fire Department.
