Madisonville Man and Woman Arrested for Drugs and Leaving Minor in Room with Drugs

KENTUCKY  (04/01/2015) – The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office performed arrests on March 31, involving two adults and one minor and various drugs.

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office officials state that at around 9:46 PM, Deputies Ryan Bailey and Josh Travis pulled over a blue Chevy Van for an equipment violation. Upon stopping the vehicle, the driver, Jody Stiles, purposely dropped a baggie containing prescription pills onto the ground and attempted to destroy them with her foot. Stiles was immediately arrested.

During a search of Stiles, Deputies located several baggies containing synthetic Marijuana.

During the incident, the passenger, Roger Thomas, became extremely disorderly and was noticeably under the influence of drugs. Deputies performed a search of the vehicle and located a large duffel bag containing several pounds of suspected Synthetic Marijuana.

Also found near the duffel bag was two rifles and a shotgun, as well as a large machete concealed next to the passenger seat.

Considering the traffic stop was in front of the Pennyrile Inn, where both individuals had a hotel room, a search of the room was done. During the search it was found that the subject’s daughter, a minor, was left alone in the room with numerous items of drug paraphernalia, and synthetic drugs.

Both Stiles and Thomas were arrested and transported to the Hopkins County Detention Center.
