Fish of the Day – J.L. Graham Playing the Drum

WESTERN Ky. (04/13/2015) – Though KenCo News rarely features our own staff in our Outdoor News articles, we could not resist featuring this big catch!

News Director/Investigative Reporter J.L. Graham took an hour off for lunch today and visited a tributary off of the Green River. His intention was to find out if the Striped Bass were biting yet. What he did not expect was a 5 pound 10 ounce Drum to hit his lure.

Mr. Graham, pictured here with Levi Putnam, his “little fishin’ buddy,” stated that he was using a white speckled twirl-tail lure, and caught the Drum approximately four inches off the bank of his fishing spot.

“I just dropped the jig in the water and started bouncing it around, hoping that a Stripe or a Crappie would hit it,” said Graham. “I was totally shocked when this big boy slammed my lure. It took me at least ten minutes to wrestle him in.”

This big catch was taken in the Muhlenberg County area in water supplied by the Green River.

Send us your big catch of the day to kenconews@yahoo.com . Be sure to add details, such as where it was caught, what it was caught with, and any other information.
