 TRAFFIC ALERT – Paving throughout Hopkins County Starting Today

KENTUCKY  (04/22/2015) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans base repair work and asphalt paving along various highways in Hopkins County Starting Thursday, April 23, 2015.

Motorists should be alert for work zones at the following locations:

• KY 269/VETERANS DRIVE from mile point 1.396 just west of US 41 extending east to mile point 1.823 at Factory Outlet Boulevard, a distance of 0.43 miles.

• KY 502/COILTOWN ROAD from mile point 6.154 at the KY 1034 intersection extending north to mile point 8.348 at the intersection with US 41-Alternate, a distance of 2.19 miles.

• KY 502/COILTOWN ROAD from mile point 3.246 at Clear Creek Bridge extending north to mile point 4.021, a distance of 0.78 miles

• KY 630/ MANITOU ROAD from mile point 6.748 at East Fork Creek Culvert extending north to the Hopkins-Webster County Line at mile point 8.538, a distance of 1.79 miles.

• KY 1034/ROSE CREEK ROAD from mile point 0.000 at KY 109 extending east to mile point 1.566 at the KY 2280 intersection, a distance of 1.57 miles.

• KY 3059/WELLS ROAD from mile point 0.570 about ½ mile east of Gamblin Cemetery Road extending east to US 41 at mile point 3.801, a distance of 3.23 miles.

Once base repairs are completed at various locations along these work zones, traffic will then be allowed to run on the repaired areas for about a week to allow them to settle. Paving will then take about 3 to 4 weeks to complete.

Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers. Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

Road Builders, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $983,264 group highway improvement project. The work should be completed by June 30th, weather permitting.
