Job Corps Honors Above and Beyond Employee, Lydia Adams

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (05/07/15) – It is with great honor for the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center to recognize Mrs. Lydia Adams as the quarterly Above and Beyond Employee. Adams has been an employee of the Center for the past ten years and is currently a Records Clerk.

Adams was nominated because she continuously goes Above & Beyond, time and time again for her department. Not only on this occasion, but in the past she has stepped up to the plate to ensure departmental compliance, data integrity, and that service is seamless and top notch at all times. She has worked as a department of one the past 60 days in absence of her supervisor. Meaning a vast number of folders had to be prepared for review, terminated folders were processed, ordered 150 plus tickets for new and exiting students, processed over 37 new students, completed 23 transition payments for ordinary separating students, pulled numerous folders for a data integrity audit, and ensured the weekly reports were submitted on time to the Department of Labor. In addition to all this, she ensured accountability was logged for clothing allotments and center uniforms, responded appropriately to all emails and phone calls, and ensured all student leaves and travel data was recorded accurately.

Mr. Trevor Periard, Director of Finance & Administration, states “Mrs. Lydia Adams it critical to the smooth operations of the Records Department. She is the kind of employee that makes the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center stand out among other centers. She has a positive attitude and always finds a way to get the job done; she would report to work early when not asked to do so. Whether assisting a student or staff, or even a parent over the phone, Lydia is the kind of employee that leaves a lasting positive impression. Mrs. Lydia Adams exemplifies the excellence of our employees who give so much to the success of her department and the Muhlenberg Job Corps Center.”

Adams resides in Greenville, Kentucky with her husband, Randy and two children, Emily and Lucas.
