 Tip Leads to Drug Trafficking Arrest

MADISONVILLE, Ky.  (05/12/2015) – On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at approximately 5:00 PM, the Madisonville Police Department performed an arrest stemming from a tip regarding possible drug trafficking.

Police officials state that they received an anonymous tip regarding drug sales at 974 ½ South Main Street in Madisonville. As a result, officers Chad Muirhead and Justin Jones conducted a knock and talk investigation at the residence, occupied by 51-year-old Anthony W. Browning.

Once Mr. Browning gave officers permission to search the residence, officers discovered a large amount of synthetic marijuana, multiple Xanax bars, several pipes, drug paraphernalia, and a large amount of cash.

Officers arrested Browning on charges of Trafficking in Synthetic Drugs (1st Offense), Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (1st Offense).

Browning was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
