Lake Malone Offers Free Fishing with Kids Fishing Contest 

KENTUCKY (06/01/15) – Lake Malone State Park has announced an upcoming fishing event open to everyone, at absolutely no cost to those taking part in the contests.

On June 20, from 6:00 AM until 11:30 AM, the Fishing with Kids event will be held at the Lake Malone State Park Campgrounds. This event is for youth ages 4-15, but all youth must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Those taking part in the event may fish from the bank, or from a boat.

Along with the contest prizes, which includes a Grand Prize of a 14 foot Jon Boat, there will also be a wide variety of items given away in drawings for the kids and the adults. Contests are split into different age groups with prizes for biggest bass, catfish, crappie, and bluegill. Contestants may only win in one category.

Those taking part in this event are asked to bring buckets to put their fish in. Stringers are not allowed.

Also, everyone must obey all state laws and regulations.

Sign up for this event begins at 6 AM and lasts until 8 AM.
