UPDATE -Autopsy Results Reveal Elkton Death to likely be Murder 


WESTERN KY (6/29/15) - On Sunday, June 28, KenCo News reported on a possible murder investigation that took place in the Elkton KY area. The Kentucky State Police has released updated information on this investigation.

An autopsy was performed this morning at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, KY. The preliminary results indicate that the victim, Amos Yoder, died of blunt force trauma.

At the present time, his wife, Marjorie Yoder, is in stable condition at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

KENTUCKY (06/28/15) – The Kentucky State Police are currently working a Home Invasion/Homicide.

The incident occurred at the home of Amos and Marjorie Yoder on Old Trenton Road in Elkton, KY.

At approximately 8:19 A.M., the Todd County Sheriffs Department requested the Kentucky State Police after they received a call that family members had found Mr. and Mrs. Yoder, who are husband and wife, inside their residence. Mr. Yoder, a 79 year old,  was deceased and 75 year old Mrs. Yoder had serious physical injuries.

Mrs. Yoder was taken to Logan Memorial and later flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. for treatment. Mr. Yoder will be taken to Louisville, KY for an autopsy.

Investigators are still on the scene. An update will be sent out when new information becomes available.

The Kentucky State Police are being assisted by the Todd County Sheriff’s Department and the Todd County Coroners Office.
