FISH OF THE WEEK – Michael Putnam Catches 10 Pound Catfish in Memory of his Grandfather

KENTUCKY (07/01/15) – On Wednesday, July 1, Michael Putnam of Muhlenberg County nailed a 10-pound catfish on a fishing trip dedicated to the memory of his Grandfather.

David Ray Pogue Sr, 76, of Ebenezer in Muhlenberg County was an avid fisherman. Michael had been on fishing trips with his grandfather since his childhood. On June 27, Michael said goodbye to his grandfather one last time as he moved on to Heaven.

On Wednesday, Michael and some family and friends went on a fishing trip on the Eastern end of Muhlenberg County. While fishing for bluegill, Michael hooked into this huge catfish. After a lengthy battle, he brought in onto the bank.

Michael expressed his wishes that KenCo News would state that this amazing catch, the biggest catfish he had ever caught, be dedicated to the memory of his grandfather.
