GREENVILLE, Ky. (07/03/15) – The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Green River.

According to officials, heavy rainfall has caused river levels to rise on the Green River. Minor flooding is forecast as a result.

This warning is effective from late Saturday night into Monday morning. At 9:15 Friday the stage was at 375.5 feet. Currently, it is at 380 feet.

Minor flooding is expected along the river.

Citizens are urged to never drive vehicles through flooded areas or roadways. The water may not appear deep, but might just be at a level too deep to allow safe passage. Local parents are asked to keep children away from flood waters as well.
