EXTREME WEATHER ALERT for Muhlenberg, Hopkins, Christian, Logan and Surrounding Counties 

WESTERN Ky.(07/17/15) – The National Weather Service has issued a warning stating that temperatures may reach a dangerous level for local citizens over the next three days.

Heat indexes are forecast to likely top out around 100-105 degrees today.

On Saturday, even higher levels are expected with a top-out of 110 degrees, with the same on Sunday.

Local citizens are urged to take the following precautions…

1) Drink lots of water if you are working outdoors
2) Be prepared to take breaks when working outdoors regularly
3) Do not leave children or animals in vehicles
4) Make sure pets have a significant source of water and are in shaded areas
