 Woman Life-Flighted from Scene of House Fire in Central City


WESTERN Ky.(07/17/15) – At around 8:50 PM on Friday evening, July 17, 2015, the Central City Fire Department and various other local firefighter departments were dispatched to the scene of a structure fire in Central City.

KenCo News spoke with Central City Fire Chief Ricky King on the scene of the home at 516 Harrison Avenue as firefighters secured the scene of the fire.

Chief King stated that there was only one person living in the home, a female around the age of mid-60’s. The woman was transported by PHI for burns, and likely suffered from smoke inhalation as well.

When asked about the origin of the fire in the structure, Chief King stated that it may have started at multiple points in the residence.

Firefighters had the fire under control in approximately 30 minutes.

Chief King told reporters that the fire would be investigated by the State Fire Marshall, various Fire Departments, State Police, Central City Police and other sources.

The condition of the resident is unknown at this time and the name has not been released to the public.

The Central City Fire Department was assisted by the Greenville Fire Department, Drakesboro Fire Department, Central City Police Department, PHI and local Ambulance services.
