HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR MUHLENBERG, HOPKINS, AND SURROUNDING AREAS
WESTERN Ky. (07/20/16) –The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the entire region.
Weather Service officials state that excessive heat is expected to build throughout the region from Thursday through Saturday at 7 PM.
At this point, weather officials expect that the combination of high temperatures in the mid 90’s will combine with oppressive humidity to produce heat indices from 105 to 110 degrees.
Very oppressive heat is expected to move in throughout the area.
A heat index of 105 degrees or more is considered to be the level at which the body becomes highly susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
