Central City Residents Injured in Accident on 431 

WESTERN Ky. (08/04/15) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) has released information regarding a two-vehicle accident that occurred just south of the South Carrollton area on Monday, August 3, on US 431.

According to KSP officials, The preliminary investigation revealed that William Avery, 91, Central City, was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound on US 431. Hannah Dowell, 25, Central City, was operating a 2000 Dodge Caravan northbound on US 431.

Mr. Avery attempted to make a left turn from US 431onto KY 1031. In doing so, he failed to yield the right of way and the two vehicles collided.

Both drivers were transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment.

Both were wearing seatbelts.

There were no passengers involved.

Trooper First Class Craig Engler investigated the collision.

The Central City Police Department, the Central City Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
