Single-Vehicle Rollover Accident on HWY 70 West

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (9/20/2014) – At around 4:45 today, Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014, Central Dispatch notified the Bremen and Graham Fire Department of an accident on HWY 70 West, just west of HWY 175 North, involving a Chevy Pickup truck.

Once on the scene, KenCo News spoke with local firefighters from both departments.

Firefighters stated that a gray and red truck, pictured with this article, was apparently traveling Eastbound on 70 when it exited the side of the highway.

The truck traveled for a short distance off the road, and appeared to have attempted to regain access to the highway. Evidence at the scene suggested that the truck had gotten a bit sideways and hit an embankment, flipping forward and coming to a stop on the roof of the vehicle.

Firefighters informed reporters that a passerby found the victim, a “middle-aged” man, lying on the ground near the truck, complaining of chest pain, and called dispatch.

The driver was removed from the scene by the Muhlenberg County Ambulance Service and transported to the hospital.

Firefighters stated that there was only one individual in the vehicle.

The cause of the accident, and the identity of the driver, is unknown at this time.

The Bremen Fire Department, Graham Fire Department, and EMS worked the scene.

Kentucky State Police are currently investigating the accident.
