KSP TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN ARREST OF FEMALE ON VARIOUS DRUG CHARGES
WESTERN KY (10/03/16) -The Kentucky State Police has released the following information regarding a drug-related arrest that took place recently.
On September 28 at approximately 6:50 P.M., Kentucky State Police (KSP) Trooper Cody Kromer observed a Ford passenger car speeding on KY-670 in the Providence area. Trooper Kromer pulled the vehicle over and approached the drivers’ side door.
Tina Townsend, 40, Hanson, KY, was determined to be operating her vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance. Trooper Kromer could smell the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A further search of Townsend’s car revealed suspected methamphetamine along with items of drug paraphernalia commonly used with marijuana and methamphetamine.
Tina Townsend was lodged in the Webster County Detention Center on charges of Speeding (13 over the speed limit), Possession of Controlled Substance (1st Degree, 2nd Offense, Meth), Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence (1st Offense, Aggravating Circumstances), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure of Owner to Maintain Insurance 1st Offense and Failure to Notify Department of Transportation of Address Change.
Officials state that the investigation is ongoing by Tpr. Cody Kromer.
