MALE ARRESTED WITH INFANT IN VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS

WESTERN KY (10/10/16) -The Kentucky State Police has reported the arrest that took place in the Hartford Area of Ohio County involving meth.

Officials state that Kentucky State Police (Post 16) pulled over Shawn Furlong of Smiths Grove during a traffic stop on the William Natcher Parkway near the 58 mile marker. Furlong was traveling down the parkway with two female adults and a 9 day old infant in the vehicle.

Throughout the investigation it was determined Furlong was operating a motor vehicle while impaired. Kentucky State Police Trooper Curry also discovered drug paraphernalia which field-tested positive for Methamphetamine.

Furlong was arrested and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs (Aggravated Circumstances, 1st Offense), Possession of a Controlled Substance (1st Degree, 1st Offense, Methamphetamine), Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess, and Failure to Produce Insurance Card.

Furlong was lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
