WESTERN KY (10/12/16) -On October 12, 2016, the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office investigated a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Rose Creek Road.

The investigation found that 22-year-old Hunter Lamb was operating a 1991 Chevrolet truck westbound on Rose Creek Road. Officers stated that it appeared that Lamb fell asleep and crossed into the eastbound lane. At this point, Lamb struck a 2002 Nissan van being operated by 31-year-old Christina Trautman in a head-on collision.

Trautman and two juvenile passengers were taken to Baptist Health Madisonville ER for treatment.

Hunter Lamb was taken to Baptist Health Madisonville where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Nebo and Manitou Fire Departments.
