Bowling Green Man Runs into KSP Car and Jumps into Green River While Fleeing from Troopers 


WARRENCOUNTY, Ky. (10/16/2014) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) in the Bowling Green area has reported a felony arrest after a high-speed chase.

According to KSP officials, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, Kentucky State Police Troopers David Hall and Trooper Brett Coomes responded to 521 James Elkins Road in Warren County in attempt to locate John Kinder (39) of Bowling Green, KY, who was wanted in Warren County. Upon Troopers arrival, Kinder fled in his vehicle striking the car operated by Trooper Coomes. Kinder fled onto Therkel Ferry Road. At the end of the roadway, Kinder exited his vehicle and fled on foot jumping into the Green River.

Kinder was apprehended on a sandbar on the Green River and was arrested and charged with Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree (Foot), Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (2 counts), Reckless Driving, Speeding, Resisting Arrest and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

Kinder was lodged in Warren County Jail.

The investigation is still ongoing and is being led by Trooper David Hall.
