Local Citizens Warned of Zombie’s Entering Greenville Area

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (10/17/2014) – Those living in or near the Greenville area should be aware that a large group of Zombies, as well as pirates, will be flooding the city tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 18.

For the 4th year in a row, Main Street Costumes in Greenville has orchestrated the Greenville Zombie Walk. KenCo News spoke with Main Street Costumes owner, Clint Cobb, regarding the event.

“This is a fun event to raise money for the Muhlenberg County Children’s Fund (MCCF),” said Mr. Cobb. “It’s a family event that lasts about 1 ½ hours. The walk itself involves a costume contest with two separate categories, one being a Zombie contest and the other a Pirate contest, both with winners and prizes. There will also be a gut eating contest.”

Mr. Cobb stated that, from a long-term perspective, Main Street Costumes plans to continue sponsoring this event every year.

The actual event begins at 5:30 with music provided by well-known guitarist Cody Jenkins performing. At 6:00 PM the Zombie walk begins. It begins in front of Main Street Costumes and will end in the same location after the walk. The walk will last approximately 1 ½ hours.

Mr. Cobb stated that all one has to do to take part in the contest is to show up in front of Main Street Costumes. There is no requirements for signing up for the contest. Just show up and be a zombie or be a pirate. Categories for prize winners will be funniest costume, most creative costume, best overall costume, scariest costume and best child zombie.

For the winners, there will be a number of prizes, including a trophy sponsored by 93.9 radio station.

KenCo News would like to thank Main Street Costumes for stepping forward to help local children.

Main Street Costumes is located at 127 South Main Street in Greenville. The phone number is 270-338-9304.
