MAN ARRESTED AFTER TRYING TO SWALLOW BAG OF MARIJUANA DURING TRAFFIC STOP
WESTERN KY (10/19/16) -The Kentucky State Police (KSP) has released the following information regarding a drug arrest during a scooter traffic stop.
Trooper Jonathan Johnson conducted a traffic stop after observing a motor scooter being operated without a headlight. The operator, Ricco Osborne, 25, of Elkton, was also not wearing any approved eye protection.
KSP officials state that while the scooter was still in motion, Mr. Osborne placed something into his mouth. After the vehicle was stopped, Trooper Johnson observed that Mr. Osborne did have something in his mouth and was attempting to swallow it. Trooper Johnson took control of Mr. Osborne to prevent him from swallowing the object. A bag of marijuana was spit out by Mr. Osborne.
Mr. Osborne was arrested on charges of Insufficient head lamps, No or Unapproved Eye Protection Device, No Operator/Moped License, Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia (Buy/Possess), Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence (1st offense) and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
Osborne was lodged in the Todd County Jail.
