Two-year-old Hit by Train 

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (01/19/15) – The Hopkinsville Police Department is currently investigating an incident that happened on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, involving a child and a train.

Police officials have informed KenCo News that 2-year-old Trayton Joiner, whose family lives within the Hopkinsville area, was struck by a CSX train this morning.

Officials state that Joiner was walking along the railroad tracks just south of Skyline Drive at 9:30 AM when he was struck by the train.

Joiner was treated for injuries at the scene by the Hopkinsville Fire Department EMT’s and then Transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

Once at the Hospital, the child was pronounced dead.
