MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (12/08/2014) – The first annual Riptide Swimmer Showcase, presented by Muhlenberg Community Hospital, was a huge success!

The United States Swim club held its biggest fundraiser of the year on November 22, 2014 at the Central City Convention Center.

“This exhibition meet was an awesome opportunity for our swimmers to showcase their talents to the community, their families and friends,” said Coach Jason Armstrong. “We are really proud of them.”

The Showcase not only included a full USA Swimming formatted meet, but also a silent auction, raffle, t-shirt sale and bake sale."

"There is a large amount of money required to fully fund our non-profit swim program, and monthly dues just don’t cover the operating budget. We had a fundraising goal of $4,000, and thanks to all the support we have received, we exceeded our goal,” stated Board President and Head Coach Morgan Newman Armstrong. “We are really pleased with the support from the local businesses and members of the community, and hope it will continue as the program grows.”

Awards were given to the swimmers in the following categories:
Top Fundraising Girl: Sara Jo Armstrong
Top Fundraising Boy: Payton Crick
Overall High Point Girl: Tanner Robards
Overall High Point Boy: Tristen Hall
13 & Over High Point Girl: Hannah Clark
12 & Under High Point Girl: Tanner Robards
10 & Under High Point Girl: Emma Clark
