Woman Trapped in Vehicle after Collision at East Broadway and South Scott Street 

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (12/09/2014) – On Dec. 8, 2014, at approximately 7:05 PM, the Madisonville Police Department responded to a report of an accident involving a female trapped within a vehicle.

According to Police officials, Skyler Grey, 25 of Madisonville, was traveling eastbound on East Broadway Street towards the intersection of South Scott Street. At the same time, Michael Gardner, 39, also of Madisonville, was traveling southbound on South Scott, approaching the intersection at East Broadway. Gardner told police officials that he failed to notice the stop sign and drove directly into the intersection. Gray stated that he could not avoid Gardner’s vehicle and collided with it, striking the passenger’s side of the vehicle.

Gardner’s passenger, 72-year-old Barbara Gardner of Providence, was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Madisonville Fire Department by mechanical means.

Barbara Gardner was transported to Baptist Health for possible injuries, along with Michael Gardner’s juvenile son.

Grey was also transported by Med Center Ambulance.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene by Madisonville Towing.

Falon Graham was the reporting officer in the incident.
