Belton Man Threatens Powderly Med Center with Grenade 

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (12/12/2014) – The Greenville Police Department (GPD) has released information regarding an arrest that took place on Dec. 12, 2014, in regards to Terroristic Threatening.

According to GPD officials, officers responded to the Powderly Medical Center after receiving a complaint of an individual armed with an alleged grenade. Once on the scene, officers confronted Rickie E. Jones, 57, of Belton.

Witnesses stated that Jones had entered a doctor’s office and displayed the grenade to a staff member, making threats to harm medical personnel while displaying the grenade. Jones was arrested without incident.

The grenade was identified as a training grenade, not containing any type of explosive materials.

Jones was arrested and charged with Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree. He was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

This was an isolated incident contained to the Medical Center Facility. Schools near the area were placed on lockdown as a precaution during the incident.

The Greenville Police Department was assisted in the case by the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police, Powderly Police Department and Greenville Fire Department.
