Muhlenberg Sheriff’s Deputies Receive Medal of Valor for Saving a Life

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (12/12/2014) – On December 11, 2014 four Deputies from the Muhlenberg County Sheriff Office received a Medal of Valor for bravery, at the annual Kentucky Sheriff Association Conference.

This particular medal was for their lifesaving efforts in an incident that occurred this past year involving a suicidal person armed with a firearm.

Lieutenant Bob Jenkins, Deputy Derrick Moore, Deputy Brock Mefford, and Deputy B.W. DeArmond were honored for the actions they took that resulted in saving the life of that individual.

“The Sheriff Office is very proud of these Deputies as they continue to serve and protect the community we live in,” said Sheriff's Office Public Relations Officer Alex Piper.

KenCo News is very honored to have an opportunity to thank these Deputies for their bravery, dedication and protection of our community and our individuals.
