Man and 14-year-old Son Flee from Police in Car and on Foot

HOPKINS COUNTY, Ky. (12/23/2014) – On Tuesday, Dec. 23, at approximately 12:02 PM, Madisonville Police Department officers were dispatched to a reported disturbance that took place on Osborne Lane.

While enroute to the scene, Central Dispatch informed the investigating officer that 37-year-old Christopher Turner had left the scene of the disturbance with his 14-year-old son. Turner was operating a gold Pontiac Grand Prix.

When the officer arrived in the general area of the complaint, he spotted a vehicle matching the description traveling east on Princeton near Chickasaw Drive. The officer activated his lights and the suspects’ vehicle made a quick turn onto Chickasaw Drive and accelerated to a speed in excess of 75 MPH.

As the vehicle approached Choctaw Drive, it came to a quick stop. The driver and his 14-year-old son exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

A short run later, both the father and son were apprehended.

Russell was charged with Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle) and 2nd Degree (On Foot), Operating on a Suspended Operator’s License, Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 2nd Degree X2, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth) and Drug Paraphernalia.

Tyler Russell was the reporting officer in this case.
