Two-Vehicle Collision near Entrance to Luzerne Lake

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (12/27/2014) –Around 1:30 today, Saturday, Dec. 27, 2012, an accident occurred on the Greenville Bypass near Luzerne Lake.

Greenville Police Officer Tommy Crick informed reporters on the scene that the accident involved a dark blue Silverado pickup truck and a white Pontiac Grand Prix. Officer Crick said that a male driver was traveling northbound on the bypass in the Silverado when he came upon another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle hit their brakes, for unknown reasons, resulting in the Silverado driver hitting his brakes. The brakes of the truck locked up, causing it to spin around into the southbound lane on the rain-covered roadway. At that time, the Grand Prix was traveling in the southbound lane and collided with the rear of the Silverado.

Officer Crick stated that there were injuries related to the accident, but the severity of the injuries were unknown at the time. The names of the drivers have not been released.

Officials on the scene consisted of the Greenville Police Department, Greenville Fire Department, Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office and EMS.
